Materials: 2 Technics DJ turntables, brass, bronze, two bowls, water, rubber
Dimensions: 95 x 102 x 35 cmThe installation consists out of two different sound bowls which produce there sound in an analogous manner. The two different tones are dueling with each other around the installation. This results in various sound fields with so called ‘sound knots’ in the room. This creates a sculpture of various sound fields where you can walk through. The bowls are filled with water to give a more clean tone. Because the bowls are loose on a rubber ring, they acquired additional weight by the water for more stability. The tone of the bowls caused wave patterns in the water that corresponds to the nodes in space.
